Abortion Coverage in Marketplace Plans, 2015

Issue Brief
  1. Five of these states enacted laws prior to the passage of the ACA that restrict abortion coverage in private plans. Arizona law restricts abortion coverage on a State-based marketplace. However, because Arizona has not created a State-based Marketplace, this law does not limit abortion coverage for plans sold through the Federally Facilitated Marketplace in which Arizona‘s Qualified Health Plans are sold.
