Conclusion

U.S. engagement in global health spans many decades and has increased over time. Today, the U.S. global health architecture includes multiple agencies and programs, hundreds of international and local partners, and reaches most low- and middle-income countries around the world. The U.S. is also the largest funder of the global health response. Given its reach and funding, its future trajectory in this area will have a major impact on the world’s response to ongoing and new global health challenges.
