PBS NewsHour Examines Proposed Changes To U.S. Food Aid Program

PBS NewsHour on Wednesday aired two video reports examining proposed changes to the U.S. food aid program included in President Obama’s FY 2014 budget request released this month. In a video analysis, correspondent Margaret Warner “reports on [the] new budget proposal that would redirect nearly half the money to buy bulk food more locally to the countries that need it” (4/24). In a corresponding video debate, Warner talks to Ellen Levinson of the Alliance for Global Food Security and former USAID administrator Andrew Natsios about their views on the issue (4/24).
