In this post on Management Sciences for Health’s (MSH) “Global Impact Blog,” Liz McLean, a senior technical adviser at MSH, writes about a K4Health Malawi project that she says “provides an interesting case study of the connection between improved knowledge management [KM] and health systems strengthening.” She states, “Even though the K4Health Malawi project was focused on improving gaps in the family planning/reproductive health and HIV/AIDS information pathway (specifically links between information use and performance), we saw wider heath system improvements as a result of the KM improvements implemented.” McLean describes the project, several results, and says, “The integration of KM approaches, tools, and processes into a holistic health systems strengthening program shows great potential for maximizing results” (11/6).
