In a post in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s “Impatient Optimists” blog, blog editor Amie Newman interviews Trevor Mundel, president of the Global Health Program at the foundation, about the Global Burden of Disease Study 2010 published in the Lancet last week. According to the blog, Mundel briefly describes the report and discusses his reaction, saying it should serve as “a call to action.” He states, “This study validates the focus of our work: fewer people are dying of these diseases, but there are more lives to be saved and improved” (12/14).
