Bloomberg: East Africa Seeks Streamlined Drug Oversight to Ease Access
“One of the world’s poorest regions is making itself more friendly to new products from Novartis AG, Roche Holding AG, and other drugmakers by combining the pharmacy regulators of six countries. The East African Community Medicines Registration Harmonization program allows Bayer AG, Merck KGaA, and rivals to speed products to market, while easing patients’ access to new medicines.
