Simone Popperl



Simone Popperl, broadcast editor, edits KFF Health News’ audio feature stories for Marketplace and NPR, podcasts, and the weekly KFF Health News Minute for CBS News Radio affiliates. She came to KFF Health News after four years editing NPR’s flagship morning newsmagazine, “Morning Edition,” and its daily news podcast “Up First.” At NPR, she also edited live coverage of breaking news events and helped develop “National Conversation,” a daily, hourlong, live radio program that answered listeners’ questions in the early months of the covid-19 pandemic. Popperl earned a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of California-Irvine for a study of Dead Sea sinkholes.
