Public Service Advertising in Great Britain: Lessons for U.S. Public Interests

As part of an ongoing series of forums on issues related to public education campaigns, the Kaiser Family Foundation hosted an event featuring Alan Bishop, CEO of the United Kingdom's Central Office of Information, the government organization that implements and coordinates all government public education campaigns, making it the third largest advertiser in the country.

Deborah Taylor Tate, member, Federal Communications Commission, gave opening remarks and Vicky Rideout, who directs Kaiser's Program for the Study of Entertainment Media and Health, moderated the panel discussion that included Mr. Bishop; Robert Denniston, director, National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign, Office of National Drug Control Policy; Kathy Crosby, senior vice president, The Ad Council; and Robert McKinnon, president, YellowBrick Road.

The forum was held on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, in Washington, D.C.
