Abortion Knowledge and Attitudes: KFF Polling and Policy Insights

In recent years, many states have passed laws restricting access to abortion and the Trump administration has made a number of changes to federal reproductive health policy. This poll examines the experiences and attitudes of the general public and the group most likely to be impacted by such policies – women between the ages of 18 and 49. In addition to attitudes towards recent changes in reproductive health policy, this poll, conducted nearly five decades since the 1973 Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, finds a majority of the public do not want to see the Supreme Court overturn its landmark ruling, which established a woman’s constitutional right to abortion.
