Paula Andalo, ethnic media editor, is focused on partnerships between KFF Health News and Spanish-language media. She has more than 30 years of experience as a health care writer and editor. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she began her career at Clarín newspaper, where she created an award-winning health section.
Arthur Allen, senior correspondent, writes about the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry as well as topics related to covid-19. He joined KFF Health News in 2020 after six years at Politico, where he created, edited, and wrote for its first news team to focus on health information technology.
Lauren Zamarron, newsletter editor for California Healthline’s Daily Edition and KFF Health News’ newsletters, joined the organization in 2020 after 16 years as a copy editor at USA Today. She also worked on the copy and wire desks at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Austin American-Statesman, The Roanoke Times, Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel, and The Florida Times-Union.
Oona Zenda, Digital Producer and Illustrator, works on KFF Health News’s websites and its social media team. Based in New York City, she built the visual vocabulary for the “American Diagnosis” and “Epidemic” podcasts.
Stephanie Stapleton, senior editor, has decades of experience covering health care. She started with KFF Health News when it launched in 2009. Before that, she was a reporter and then health and science editor for American Medical News.
Nathan Payne, regional editor, is based in Traverse City, Michigan. He joined KFF Health News after 17 years working in local news, including as the regional editor for investigations for CNHI News and executive editor for the Traverse City Record-Eagle.
Judy Lin, California editor, oversees KFF Health News coverage of California and leads ethnic media partnerships in the state. Judy was assistant editor at CalMatters, where she directed the award-winning California Divide project, a collaboration among multiple newsrooms focused on poverty and income inequality.
Kelly Johnson, enterprise editor, manages projects related to acute care for seniors, serious illness care, end-of-life issues, prescription drug pricing, the pharmaceutical industry, and more.
