Renuka Rayasam, senior correspondent, joined KFF Health News in 2022 from Politico, where she wrote for its magazine, covered Texas policy and politics, and helped launch a daily covid-19 briefing called “Nightly.” Previously, she worked for the Austin American-Statesman and U.S. News & World Report.

Jordan Rau, senior correspondent, reports on the American health care system’s costs and quality, with a focus on hospitals, nursing homes, doctors, and other types of medical providers. His stories have been published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, NPR, the Los Angeles Times, and dozens of other media outlets.

Rachana Pradhan, senior correspondent, reports on an array of national health policy issues and their effects on everyday Americans. She came to KFF Health News from Politico, where for five years she covered health care policy and politics. Rachana reported on former HHS Secretary Tom Price’s extensive use of private jets at taxpayers’ expense.

Aneri Pattani, senior correspondent, reports on a range of public health topics, focusing on mental health and substance use disorders. Her work has received national recognition, including a 2021 award from the Institute for Nonprofit News for reporting on the flawed oversight of addiction treatment facilities in Pennsylvania.

Jazmin Orozco Rodriguez, correspondent, works for the KFF Health News rural health desk and is based in Elko, Nevada. She explores how health issues such as food security, climate change, and agricultural practices affect rural areas. Previously, Jazmin worked for The Nevada Independent, where she focused on the state’s Latino and Native American communities.

Hannah Norman, video producer and visual reporter, joined KFF Health News after covering health care for the San Francisco Business Times. Previously, she was a fellow at AtlanticLIVE, The Atlantic’s event branch. Her work has appeared on Al Jazeera, NBC News, CNN, and other national outlets. She graduated from Wesleyan University.

Ngoc Nguyen, ethnic media editor, develops and expands editorial collaborations with ethnic media in California for KFF Health News and California Healthline.

Tarena Lofton, audience engagement producer, leads content creation for daily health care and health policy stories at KFF Health News, and promotes that content across social platforms. She joined the organization in 2019 as a social media intern and was soon promoted to assistant social media manager.

Tony Leys, rural editor/correspondent, is based in Iowa City, Iowa. He previously worked 33 years as a reporter and editor for the Des Moines Register, including more than 20 years as the newspaper's lead health care writer.

Noam N. Levey, senior correspondent, joined KFF Health News in 2021 after 17 years at the Los Angeles Times, the last 12 as the paper’s national health care reporter based in Washington, D.C.
