Jazmin Orozco Rodriguez

Jazmin Orozco Rodriguez, correspondent, works for the KFF Health News rural health desk. She covers how policy affects access to health care in rural and Native American communities. Previously, Orozco Rodriguez worked for The Nevada Independent, where she focused on the state’s Latino and Native American communities. She completed the Journalism and Women Symposium Health Journalism Fellowship in 2025 and the Poynter-Koch Media and Journalism Fellowship in 2021. Her work has been recognized by the Indigenous Journalists Association. She holds two bachelor’s degrees, in journalism and in Spanish literature and culture, from the University of Nevada-Reno.
