Elijah Anderson, Ph.D., Department of Sociology, and Patricia Lynn Stern, both of the University of Pennsylvania, explore teen sexuality from the perspectives of youth in two very different Philadelphia communities: an inner-city black neighborhood and a predominantly white working class one. Seminar participants consider how issues such as race, religion, social mores, and welfare relate to teen pregnancy rates.
