This table shows the share of individuals who were determined by NSDUH to have a drug use disorder in the past year among all adolescents ages 12-17 and among all adults. Respondents meeting NSDUH criteria for a drug use disorder are those who meet criteria in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition (DSM-5) for one or more of the following drugs: marijuana, cocaine, heroin, hallucinogens, inhalants, methamphetamine, or prescription psychotherapeutic drugs (including pain relievers, tranquilizers, stimulants, and sedatives).
