Like the San Francisco Conference Center in San Francisco, CA, the Barbara Jordan Conference Center (BJCC) was designed to host important conversations that advance public understanding of local, national and global health-related and public policy issues and encourage informed decision making. The BJCC is available free of charge to nonprofit organizations working on health care and public policy. Barbara Jordan Conference Center Floor Plans and Capabilities
The Barbara Jordan Conference Center
Maximum Capacity: Up to 190 guests in lecture-style seating.

The main conference center space utilizes a variety of state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment. An automated ceiling-mounted projector platform and three built-in projection screens allow three simultaneously projected images to be viewed on walls of the conference facility. PowerPoint can be used with this system, as well as live Internet access and DVD. An AMX audio-visual touch panel allows the speaker to control A/V from any part of the conference space. Wireless microphones as well as a daisy-chain microphone system are available for use.
The Barbara Jordan Conference Center also includes remote-controlled, wall-mounted three-chip broadcasting cameras. Multiple scenes of broadcast lighting have been installed for event broadcasting, taping or webcasting within the conference facility. Conveniently located floor boxes for A/V, data, and power connections allow a wide variety of seating and podium arrangements.
Two raised stage areas are possible in the conference room, including a modular wheelchair ramp and moveable press risers. Both a free standing and a table-top podium, with built-in microphones, may be placed on the raised platforms or on the floor of the Conference Center.

Third Floor Visitors’ Center
Capacity: 18 guests
You may use the Third Floor Visitors’ Center as a green room or reception area for speakers during an event. It is also able to accommodate small meetings of up to 18 participants. If you’d like to reserve this room, please apply for it at the same time you submit an an application for use of the Barbara Jordan Conference Center.

Who is eligible to apply?
We provide our conference facilities free of charge to non-profit organizations working in the health care and public policy fields. Final determination of scheduling occurs through a short application process. Applications typically receive an answer within one week of submitting KFF’s Conference Center Request Form. Please contact us if you have any questions in regard to eligibility of your organization.
How can I determine if a conference space is available on the day I need it?
Preliminary information concerning openings in our Conference Calendar may be obtained by contacting bjccevents@kff.org or calling 202-347-5270. Please provide multiple dates for your event whenever possible so we can find an available date for you. Please note that reservations are not placed for any date until an application has been submitted and formally approved.
What are the different types of room arrangements?

Can I webcast my event?
The conference space has webcasting capabilities. Please include information concerning your broadcasting and A/V needs in your application form and KFF event staff will help you arrange services.
What kinds of A/V equipment are available?
Our Conference Center is fully equipped to handle all typical A/V needs. Specific audio visual capabilities are described in KFF’s Conference Center Request Form.
Does KFF provide staffing support for events?
Yes, our conference staff provides some support for your event, including providing room set ups, setting up standard A/V equipment, and facilitating the delivery of catering and special equipment rentals. See KFF’s Conference Center Request Form for additional information.
Does KFF provide catering for events?
Guest organizations are expected to independently contract for catering. Once your event is approved, we can provide a list of approved caterers. Guest organizations are also expected to contract for onsite A/V support for event broadcasts and other types of needs. We will provide you with information about our approved A/V support firm.

How to Apply
To apply to use the KFF meeting space, please review the BJCC Application and Planning Guidelines and submit an application via our KFF Conference Center Request Form. Applicants typically receive an eligibility determination and schedule availability within one week of submitting their request.
