This partnership polling report from KFF and The Cook Political Report examining the attitudes and experiences of voters in three Sun Belt states (Arizona, Florida and North Carolina) that were previously considered Republican strongholds. It probes voters’ views of President Trump and Joe Biden, their motivations for voting, and issues including the role of coronavirus, health care, and the economy.
The Supreme Court will review the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) this November in California v. Texas. This fact sheet summarizes the major provisions of the ACA, illustrating the breadth of its changes to the health care system. If all of most of the ACA is struck down, many of these provisions could be eliminated.
This report shows continued steady progress in vaccine uptake, with 62% of adults saying they’ve gotten at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, though few who are eager remain unvaccinated. In addition, 41% of parents of children ages 12-17 say their child has already received at least one dose or that they will do so right away. The report also looks at potential motivators for the unvaccinated.
This report examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the wellbeing of parents and children. It finds that more than one-third of parents say their child fell behind academically or in their social and emotional development as a result of the pandemic. This report also examines the mental health and wellbeing of parents whose household experienced an employment disruption due to childcare needs and of children who attended school at least partially online.
Nearly half (48%) of parents of vaccine-eligible children ages 12-17 now say their child has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, a new KFF Vaccine Monitor report shows.
This Vaccine Monitor finds a growing share of U.S. adults say they have already gotten at least one dose of the vaccine or want to get vaccinated as soon as possible. It explores vaccine intentions, information gaps, vaccine brand preferences, and tests a variety of potential incentives, messages, and pieces of information that might be used to increase vaccination uptake.
Voters frequently cite the economy as a key issue in determining their preferences in any given election. At the same time, many people report that they are very worried about the rising costs of health care, naming it as a top personal concern.
This document contains the topline from the September Kaiser Health Tracking Poll: Election 2008 poll. The poll involved a nationally representative random sample of 1,207 adults (including 1,081 who say they were registered to vote), who were interviewed by telephone between September 8 and 13, 2008.
