Claudia Boyd-Barrett

California Correspondent, KFF Health News

Claudia Boyd-Barrett is the Southern California Correspondent for KFF Health News. She writes about health care access and affordability issues facing the region’s diverse populations, and local impacts of national health policy changes. Previously, she was senior reporter and assistant editor at the California Health Report, a nonprofit news site dedicated to health and solutions journalism, as well as an independent health journalist for more than a decade. Her work has garnered numerous awards.

 

Claudia holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences and Spanish from the University of Manchester in the U.K., and a master’s degree in journalism from the Universidad de San Andres in Argentina. She is a two-time USC Annenberg health journalism fellow and a 2006 Inter American Press Association fellow. She is fluent in Spanish.
