How to Cite Us
KFF is a nonpartisan health policy research organization. We never advocate or make recommendations.
We are not affiliated with Kaiser Permanente and we are not a foundation. That is why we changed our name to simply KFF in 2023, to dispel confusion about who we are. Our legal operating name is KFF, and we should be cited as simply KFF.
KFF Health News, which is a national newsroom that covers health issues, is one of the core operating programs of KFF.
We produce more than two thousand products each year and everything we produce is is produced in-house by our policy experts, our pollsters and survey researchers, and our journalists.
We are an endowed non-profit, legally a public charity. We don’t accept government or corporate funding because we study, poll about, and report on those organizations. Today, about 70% of our operating budget comes from our large endowment and 30% from external funds, primarily from foundations. We retain editorial control over anything published under our name.
