Notes
The Part D Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) program provides premium and cost-sharing assistance for Part D enrollees with low incomes (less than 150% of poverty, or $22,590 for individuals/$30,660 for married couples in 2024) and modest assets (less than $15,720 for individuals/$31,360 for couples in 2024; this does not include $1,500 for burial expenses).
Medicare beneficiaries who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, those receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and those who qualify for a Medicare Savings Program (QMBs, SLMBs, QIs) qualify for full benefits, along with non-duals who have income less than 135% of poverty and low assets. In years prior to 2024, other non-duals with incomes less than 135% of poverty and modest assets, or with incomes between 135%-150% of poverty and higher assets may qualify for partial benefits. In 2024, LIS enrollees receiving partial benefits will qualify for full benefits due to a provision in the Inflation Reduction Act.
