Issue Brief
  1. Respondents were asked questions from the Patient Health Questionnaire-2, a two-item depression screener. Those who had a score of three or higher were considered as responding positive to the screener, consistent with recommendations of using a cut-off point of three to indicate a need for additional screening and diagnosis. See https://www.jstor.org/stable/3768417?seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents for more information on the screener and its recommended cut-off point.
