Julie Marquis, the California Bureau Chief of Kaiser Health News, has been a newspaper reporter and editor in California for 30 years, including two decades at the Los Angeles Times, where she most recently was the metro projects editor. Much of her work over the years has focused on health care. She was the primary editor on the Pulitzer Prize-winning series, “The Troubles at King/Drew.” Julie has a B.A. in history from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in communication from Stanford University. She attended the Harvard University School of Public Health in 1993-94 on an Alfred P. Sloan media fellowship.
