Christine Spolar was Executive Editor for KHN. She has been a journalist for over three decades, most recently as investigations editor of the Financial Times. She has reported from war zones and on economic crises and has led award-winning investigations from London to Beijing to Washington. She was a correspondent for the Washington Post and Chicago Tribune, where she was based in Washington, Los Angeles, Warsaw, Jerusalem, Cairo, Baghdad, London and Rome. She also worked in television — at CBS’s 60 Minutes II — and at websites — at Bloomberg News and the Huffington Post Investigation Fund. A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School, she was a Kiplinger Fellow at Ohio State University and a Fulbright lecturer in Slovenia.
