World AIDS Day began in 1988 to focus global attention on the HIV/AIDS epidemic across countries, organizations and governments. Each year, World AIDS Day follows a theme. This year's campaign, "Live and let live," focuses on stigma and discrimination.

Sexual Health Information Campaigns and Media Partnerships
Because young people turn to the media for both entertainment and information about sexual health, the Foundation has formed innovative partnerships with major U.S. media organizations that reach teens and young adults. These partnerships create and deliver creative, customized messages about sexual health -- from the importance of parent/child communication to how to prevent HIV/AIDS and other STDs -- using a combination of public service advertising, on-air programming, online content, and print resources.
