Where Expanding Coverage to Uninsured Ranks in Relation to other Priorities

When asked about a range of issues, half (50%) of Americans say that expanding health insurance coverage for people who are uninsured should be a top priority for the President and Congress. This ranks roughly in the middle of a list of priorities – above reducing the federal deficit (42%) and reforming Social Security system (35%), but below issues such as dealing with Iraq (65%), fighting terrorism (60%) and dealing with health care costs (60%).
