Federal Government’s Responsibility to Guarantee Medical Care for Uninsured

In addition to agreeing that the federal government should have the most responsibility in ensuring that Americans are covered by health insurance, since 1992, a large majority of the public has also agreed that the federal government should guarantee medical care for people who don’t have health insurance. Since 2003, public support for guaranteeing health insurance for all citizens remains strong, even when the possibility of raising taxes is mentioned.
