Preferences Among the Uninsured for Greater Access to Care

While the public is split when it comes to the best option for providing health insurance coverage to more Americans, there is also no consensus among the uninsured as to which option they would prefer to give their family greater access to care. Given three different options, four in ten (40%) of those without health insurance say they would prefer to have access to publicly-sponsored insurance at low or no cost, a third (33%) say they would prefer a tax credit from the government to purchase insurance on their own, and about one in five (19%) say they would prefer to have a new public clinic opened in their community.
