Parents’ Concern About Their Children Becoming Infected With HIV

About one-third (32%) of parents of children age 21 or younger say they are “very concerned” about their child becoming infected with HIV, and another three in ten (28%) say they are “somewhat concerned.” African American and Latino parents are more likely than white parents to say they are “very concerned” about their child becoming infected with HIV; more than half of African American (57%) and Latino (54%) parents say they are “very concerned,” compared with less than a quarter (23%) of white parents.
