Just under a quarter (23%) of Americans say HIV/AIDS is a more urgent problem for their local community than it was a few years ago, while one in ten say it is less urgent, and a third (34%) say it is about the same. Nearly a quarter (23%) say HIV/AIDS has never been a problem for their community. African Americans (49%) and Latinos (46%) are much more likely than whites (15%) to say that HIV/AIDS is a more urgent problem for their community than it was a few years ago.
