Most Americans are optimistic that spending more money on HIV prevention and testing will lead to meaningful progress in slowing the epidemic. In 2006, about six in ten say that spending more money on both HIV/AIDS prevention (62%) and testing (59%) in the U.S. will lead to meaningful progress, while about three in ten say such spending won’t make much difference.
