On Thursday, January 5 at 9:30 a.m., the Kaiser Family Foundation and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will hold a briefing to explore the Department's role in global health and its Global Health Strategy. The event will feature opening remarks by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Diane Rowland, Executive Vice President of the Kaiser Family Foundation, will moderate a panel discussion examining the goals and objectives of the new strategy and how it relates to other components of the U.S. global health response.

Panelists will include Nils Daulaire, Director of the Office of Global Affairs at HHS; Ariel Pablos-Méndez, Assistant Administrator for Global Health at USAID; Kerri-Ann Jones, Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs; Helene Gayle, President and CEO of CARE USA; Harvey Fineberg, President of the Institute of Medicine; and Jen Kates, Vice President and Director of Global Health & HIV Policy at the Kaiser Family Foundation.
