Kaiser Public Opinion Spotlights summarize the state of public opinion on key health care topics. Each uses data from Kaiser surveys as well as other sources to identify important themes, examine current views and note relevant trends over time.

Kaiser Health Tracking Poll—October 2009 -- October 2009
The October Kaiser Health Tracking Poll finds public support for health reform unchanged since last month, with more in favor than opposed.
Survey also shows about half of the public believes that if reform passes, help for the uninsured and changes in insurance market rules would arrive within the first year, years ahead of the timetables contemplated in the legislation.
Kaiser Health Tracking Poll - September 2009 -- September 2009
The September Kaiser Health Tracking Poll finds that public support for health reform ended its summer slide, reversed course and moved modestly upwards in September. The survey also finds initial majority support for taxing expensive health plans and imposing fees on insurers to pay for reform.
The Public's Health Care Agenda for the New President and Congress -- January 2009
This survey captures the public's attitudes regarding the health care agenda for President-elect Obama and the new Congress in 2009.  It assesses the relative priority placed on health care by the American public as part of addressing the economic recession and as a large scale reform issue.
Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Progress Report: Findings From A 2006 National Survey of Seniors -- August 2007 Video/Audio
This national survey of 16,000 seniors finds that the share of seniors without drug coverage dropped significantly under Medicare’s new drug benefit, though some continue to be vulnerable to high costs.  Results of the Kaiser Family Foundation, the Commonwealth Fund and the Tufts-New England Medical Center study were published in Health Affairs.

Kaiser Health Poll Report Survey: Seniors' Early Experiences with Their New Medicare Drug Plans - June 2006 -- July 2006
A June 2006 tracking poll finds that more than eight in 10 seniors who are enrolled in a Medicare drug plan are satisfied with their plan, though almost two in 10 say they encountered a major problem in using it.  The poll reveals that for most seniors, initial experiences under the drug benefit have been positive, and about three in four seniors who are enrolled in a drug plan would choose the same plan again.
