Seniors’ Plans For Enrollment in 2006

In April 2005, with 9 months to go before the new benefit goes into effect and 7 months before enrollment begins, half of seniors have not decided whether to enroll in the new prescription drug benefit. Fewer than one in ten (9%) of seniors say they plan to enroll in a Medicare drug plan, while nearly four in ten (37%) say they will not. The majority of seniors say they either haven’t heard enough to decide (47%) or don’t know (7%) whether they will enroll in 2006.
