Rap-It-Up Public Service Announcements (PSAs)

Since the launch of the campaign in 1998, BET and Kaiser have teamed up to produce television PSAs to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS in the African American community.  PSAs refer viewers to the campaign's toll-free number (1-866-RAP-IT-UP) and/or website (www.rap-it-up.com) for additional HIV/AIDS related information, including a national database of HIV testing centers.  Starting in 2007, select PSAs also drive viewers to a new text message service. By text messaging their zip code to the short code “RAPIT” (72748 on the dial pad) cell phone users will receive a text message back with information about the testing site nearest to them.
