Content Analysis: Sexual Health Coverage in Women's, Men's and Teen Magazines

A content analysis and focus group report on magazine coverage of sexual health issues. The content analysis study, conducted by Kim Walsh-Childers, Debbie Treise and Alyse Gotthoffer of the University of Florida, is a current and ten-year retrospective study, looking at women's, men's, teen and other specialty magazines. The focus group report was conducted by Deborah Treise of the University of Florida and looks at what readers take away from magazine coverage of these issues. The reports were prepared for a conference for magazine editors and writers held in New York on April 18,1997, sponsored by the Delacorte Center for Magazine Journalism at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and the Kaiser Family Foundation.
